Where can I learn about the benefits a Platinum member receives?

Platinum basically allows you to sell domains on the forum, which Gold member's can't do.

I'm also new and just researched DNF$ today myself. It seems that new people are unlikely to accumulate large sums of DNF$. The following thread is helpful:

Basically,

DNF $ will no longer be given out for posts.
Users with DNF $ can still trade or sell them members so that they may upgrade.
DNF $ can still be spent on store items.
