Hello everyone,
I’m new to domaining and would like to understand how beginners usually evaluate a domain name.
Any advice or resources would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi

i'd say majority of beginners nowadays, are using all those appraisal tools
as most already come here believing the hype, before they learn the real deal

the sad part is,
those tools will give just about any crap turd of a domain a $ dollar value,
and that's just enough reason for a newbie to register the domain,
only to find out later it has no reseller value.

best advice i'd give is
read all the domains wanted threads going back at least 10 years
this might tell you what kind of names buyers want and how much they are willing to pay
then
read all the for sale threads going back last 15 years
this might tell you which names were sold and perhaps how much they sold for.

don't be in a rush to spend your money,
because the newbie is a profit center, and you will get taken for a ride if you jump on the wrong bandwagon

imo....
