I PMed varchar about this when he had it posted before.. I guess you already had a sale lined up with him cause he never got back to me about it. I'd say it's worth at least a few thousand to an end user right now in India, although I'm not too familiar with the going rates for .co.in names, this is a very good one though. I looked and as an example, google uses the domain news.google.co.in for their india news stories. Owning this name was probably a very good decision. Just out of curiosity what did it cost you?

Every time I see .co.in I want to hurl.
Not only they are ugly ("coin") but now that the .in is available, they are obsolete.

Can u tell me 5 good big corporates that use .in and u can tell me 100 good ones that use .co.in
I picked up a business magazine and there were like 40 advertisments ( In websites address 20 were .com , 18 had .co.in and 2 were .in ( ebay.in) )

Ebay says it all. The .in is 4 months old and has already surpassed .co.in - in number of registrations. Sorry but when it comes to domains, shorter *is* better.

I agree on the whole .co.in and .in argument, .co.in is the one to go for as it's already proved in the market of end users.

The majority of .in domains are held by resellers and aren't developed a great deal.

But I do not know well about ccTLD.

US$350 - 500 for "news.co.in"

US$1,200 - US$2,500 for "news.in"

How much did you pay. ?

This is one of the domains I wanted for my collection and was willing to go upto $500 in todays market.

Developed, It could be worth much more.
