Its worth about 1/10 of what you paid for it at SN. Its an LLL .info and its TM'd at that.

"NHL and the word mark and image of the Stanley Cup are registered trademarks and the NHL Shield and NHL Conference logos are trademarks of the National Hockey League. "

My appraisal is low-mid xxx.

I don't think the TM is an issue as long as you use it wisely.

Would be great for SEO

bidded also, but after googling and all i saw was "hockey league" references, i dropped out.

agree with "Rock" on this, and if i were you, perhaps wait awhile before posting for sale or appraisals of SN catches.

i know you're on a "high" when you've won a name, but sometimes quick postings can bring you down in a hurry. it's good also to wait at least until the "payment pending" note has been removed.

Good luck though ;)

I doubt that the NHL has any rights to this acronym in Turkey, as I am guessing thats were you are...after all its the U.S. and Canada., Just make a website about something non hockey related,

I thought LLL's couldn't be taken for trademark unless he made a hockey related site out of it? If so, why did the AHL pay 67k for AHL.com?

Exactly- nhl.info is perfectly fine just as long you don't try to profit from the National Hockey Leagues TM.

Trademarks don't give exclusive rights to acronyms/abbreviations. So many factors to consider, jurisdiction of the TM (YES, the US isn't the whole world :-#:), goods and services associated with the TM etc etc.

Tips…

- Don't park it
- Establish your own rights to the name that doesn't conflict with any registered TMs

I guess the fact still remains that he paid $1,450 for a LLL .info.

My personal thoughts... I have 3 different views

1/
$200-$500 max solely based on LLL.info trends IMHO....

2/
$0 to -$xxx... keeping in mind that the approx 99% of the US, UK, AU etc overture results seem to be based on the NHL (Hockey league) which is Trademarked - You are treading on trouble I'm afraid. Be very very careful :worried:

3/
...But don't let this put you off since there is a way to come out at top from all this - If you develop wisely keeping away from the Hockey Riff-Raff you could possibly make a nice profit after all

and here's why... after a quick lookup I found these Acronyms/possiblities for development...

.... I've highlighted some of my Favourites too, Good Luck :)

Don't ever buy 3 letter domains on snapnames... unless you like to pay more :)

I don't think you overpaid for this name.

You may have TM problems with the name, and I think before you bought the name you
new that it is not just a 3 letter .info name. On the other hand I think that it is a good
name for that price if you can avoid the problems. There are few forums online related to NHL that have trademarked NHL 3 letters in their name

Guess why NHL. net, NHL. org and NHL. biz + NHL. us (!!!) are even do not have a home page ... and not parked!

NHL .ca has a fake adsense adds "Non Hodgkins lymphoma" related web site with quite a few broken links...

NHL.info

app. plz.

Do you own it?

It appears to be registered to a fake US address. That's VERY bad... if you get served, you'll lose your investment by default.
