New to DNForum, am curious to learn more about non dotcom TLD's that complete words-- or "domain hacks" -- and if they have more value than other non doctom TLD's...

Example:
del.icio.us
blo.gs
poli.tc

Thoughts?

I sold Musli.ms for $200
and Foru.ms for $7000.
I would say that there is a market for them, but only go for something that everyone has heard of. I've got some great domain hacks in my portfolio like
Timeshar.es
Chatroo.ms
Condominiu.ms
BrandableDomain.name
GenericDomain.name
BrokerDomain.name
(not sure I'd call the .name domain hacks) but they go with the ext. so well.
ProsR.us and ProsAre.us
I would like Sedo to do a Domain Hack Sale to see what comes out of the woodwork.

del.icio.us is not used anymore

i would not buy/use such names

@Brindle:
Thanks for the advice on those names. Until I do a little more research, I'll likely stay away from buying up too many domain hacks. I have a couple in my portfolio, for example poli.tc is mine, but I'm kind of at a cross-roads on whether or not I want to explore domain hacks further.

I agree though, I'd love to see Sedo do a domain hack auction. :)

@dominator:
I use delicious every day! I agree it is used less than before, pretty out-of-date, but that's not to say all domain hacks would suffer the same fate.

what i meant is that delicious does not use the name del.icio.us anymore

A good domain hack may well have value...Something that says something, is simple to type/read, and, has an application.

I have just one domain hack:

Ma.am

...must do a site for it one day....
