Hi Fonzerelli,

Please excuse my ignorance, but ... ????

lol - I'm sorry, I just wanted to ask, how do you interpret the results for what you type in the search? What does it all mean? Should you type the domain name extension as well?

Thanks for your advice.

Each Month as google prepares to update their databases website rankings start to change on googles different servers www, www2 , www3 postions change and it's called the "google dance" .. everyone gets "excited" to see what new ranking they are getting..www2 and www 3 are "previews" of roughly what will appear on www for final positions...

There is some debate that if you ty up those servers constanly checking your positiongoogle may rank you lower..probably a bit of paranoia ..but with Google hard to say month to month what iratates them...

yeah
type in the extension

for example
my new site got listed so i typed in www.manual-submit.com in google dance (or in www2 seperately if you want)

over the next few days the results from the secondary servers will be migrated to the main site

Hi,

I just checked one of my sites, and it was listed in www2, and www3, would this mean it might be on its way to www?

thanks for this post I was wondering how Google's ranking system works.

thanks

You can type your domain name, but that doesn't have much use... usually you can know what a user searched for when they found your website through the search engines, you can type in those search phrases/words to see where you are ranked, and if and how that differs after the Google dance.

Get dancin' ! :D

Thanks fonzerelli_79 for the link. I went to sign up for the 'dance alerts' but the webmaster isn't accepting new members until he's worked out how to handle the huge e-mail load at notification time.

Maybe a current subscriber can post to this thread when they hear about the next Google database/rankings update? TYIA!
