One big problem is that a lot of game/rpg scripts running around and being sold are not being sold by the owners. In some cases source code has been stolen by programmers hired to help sites out and then sold or given away.

In a lot of cases the games are just crap or sitting in alpha versions for years because no one is contributing.

note - I am NOT saying anyone here is selling something they don't own, I am just pointing out a known fact.
