I just posted this on the appraisal thread:

"I understand why this appraisal thread survives, but I don't understand its purpose.

If there is an actual deal in the offing, appraisals by peers are valuable, but what does this thread accomplish except to get subjective opinions from other domainers?

Should it not be called Opinions and save the Appraisal thread for the Real Deal? What buyer would take this seriously?"

I agree 100% ducky. I have noticed that here most opinions are given with consideration and explainations of the opinion which is nice.

I also think Domains for Sale should be just that and members should give the courtesy of not posting THEIR opinions there.

I do think that although appraisals as far as a guide to sales price are useless, when I was a newbie in the game, I read them all the time for tips on good uses for domains I owned and it has paid off for me.
