Here's some opinions.

Don't advertise it.

I lost two Academy Award domain names and two with Oscars in it. The law firm that represents The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences doesn't play around with any one in any form or fashion who does not have persmission to use the name Academy Awards and The Oscars, including an image of the statue.

This law firm impressed the hell out of me. Sent me C&D emails regarding each one along with a registered letter for each one. Very expensive stationary, I might add.

The letters cited case after case and the verdicts...100% for the Academy Awards. We're talking an organization that is nearly 80 years old and very, very protective of its branding. I checked with the BBB in Los Angeles county and the California Bar and this was very legitimate, as if the registered letters were not enough. The attorney I spoke with on the phone whose name was on the letters was exceptionally nice. She was not biligerant in the least and very professional and courteous. We had a delightful chit chat about the weather, the Academy Awards, the history of the Academy Awards and the law firm, and domain names.

Most likely they have paid services that alert them any time one of their keywords is registered.

Quite frankly, I really like your domain name and so won't the Academy Awards. And I liked the ones that I surrendered. Excellent choice of keywords, very popular search topic this time of year, and definitely a revenue generator.

But, as they say in the business, "The Academy Awards would like to thank you..."

Could be a forum about Oscar fish. I have 3 oscars and all three of them are awesome. OscarFish.com is a well established forum for learning and talking about Oscars, so if you go that route I think you would do well. Heck let me know if you need help with material for the site and I will put something together. As for the value of the domain alone I would think low XX. Develop it, have fun with it, buy a few Oscars and I bet you will never want to let go of the name. Good luck bud.
