A great catch! IN terms of value, I am thinking Aussie news agencies may want something sounding official. Is "Oz" an acceptable and formal enough name for the country? Otherwise, it becomes a novelty similar to OzNewz.com although OzNews.com is 10 times better. With American standards, worth as much as a 2 word dot com with one of the words shoterened, abbreviated or acronymed.

Top name. Someone here in oz will want it. oz is such a common term. We even have ozlotto etc . So thats not going to be an issue.

That's what I was a little afraid of, I didn't know how recognisable it was for non-australians.

oz is such a branded way of saying Australia here, more so that aus or au - especially in business names and as whitelion mentioned, ozlotto ect.

In terms of $ how much do you think?

im thinking $100 tops.... I really dont like it that much, cool name, but OZ does not mean anything at all to me, if you find an Aussie buyer, you could get a few hundred

Well forget probably, isn't after reading this thread. Just out of interest is Australia talked about much in the states? Do many people holiday there, curious about it etc?

Thanks guys, I was thinking earlier that I would rather oznews.com ahead of ausnews.com and australianews.com -- but, yeah, Im not sure now because of the American thing. I am thinking of keeping the name and marketing a site here in Australia now because I probably wont get a buyer for its true "oz" worth.
