A few domains I registered through Pool ended up with Parava Networks aka $10-domains. After the 60 day period passed I tried to transfer these domains to my main registrar. After asking Parava to unlock these domains I was told that they were not allowing any transfers for domains registered through Pool. Their reason for this is they were in a dispute with Pool over money.

I paid for these domains through Pool, and Parava ended up as the registrar. The whois for these domains is in my name. As far as I'm concerned I own these domains. Whatever Parava's dispute with Pool is doesn't concern me. Yet Parava is holding my domains hostage in their dispute with Pool. How do these companies do business like this? Who do I sue in all of this? Parava or Pool?

Parava has such a twisted sense of business ethics that they insist they are doing nothing wrong. They believe it is ethical to hold my domains hostage, as bargaining chips, in their dispute with Pool.

If you have any domains registered with Parava I suggest you try and transfer them to see if they are pulling this same scam with you.

Any suggestions on how I can resolve this without getting my lawyer involved?

one solutsion is : don`t use pool!

I cc'd my emails with Parava to [email protected] Is there a better ICANN email address to complain to about this, or is that the main address for complaints about bad registrars like Parava?

Ditto. I spend hrs every day 7X week trying real hard to transfer away from about a dozen 3rd rate registrars they stuck me with. My aggravation and time wasted is probably more than the value of the domains after all this time spent. This really sucks. I would not use Pool again unless they guaranteed I would end up with a good firm.

Don't understand why Pool does not let all the drop catchers still work for them but also require all names need to be reg'd with a good registrar something like Snapnames did several yrs ago where the buyer could select from a small group of well known firms. i.e.Tucows NetSol and a few others, regardless of which one grabbed the name.

I don't use Pool anymore. These domains were registered a few months ago. But really the problem is with Parava. They understand English and understand my request, but think they have the right to hold my domains as bargaining chips over their dispute with Pool. I should not be brought into their dispute. I paid Pool for these domains. Pool should've paid Parava for these domains. I called Pool and they said they paid Parava. So someone is lying in all this crap. At least Pool credited me some money for my frustration. So Parava is the scumbag in all of this.

I rarely use Pool anymore. Between the lack of transparency in their 2-stage bid process, the opportunity to bid against yourself if you are the only one bidding on a name, and the unethical, idiotic registrars, Pool is just not worth it.

Can't help to agree Pool stinks big time though they do manage to snap a few good domains :P Had a few bad experiences with them too.

Parava are crooks...theifs...straight up stole a domain right out of my account...forget them and move one.
