Care to expand a bit more on why?

Yes - if a persaon was rasing funds for a charity, it would flow to that charity. If people were just giving to the person who died, they wanted to help the family who were left behind

Yes - remember, we are innocent until proven guilty

Yes, unless they lie to the court about their financial situation to get a lower bond.

I'm fighting against people raising money for an animal shelter that essentially collects a lot of donations "for the animals", lets them die (58 dogs found in the back yard) and the owners pocket the cash. As time allows I'll be trying to convice PayPal and the IRS to shut them down.

kinda know what ya saying, but that should be up to pp to decide if they should allow their platform to be used, in such situations.

when it happens though, the recipient should have revealed the current balance, when stating his ability to pay bond.

as i'm sure he, or he had someone checking to see if there were donations being made.
