I disagree. In the USA, there is such as a thing as "peanut butter crackers".

NURCA, I'm surprised you hand regged this. I think this will be one of those domains that surprise people. Undeveloped I'd say low X,XXX range. Develop and you'll increase the value. There are so many things you can do with this domain. How about homemade peanut butter crackers?

Well I agree to disagree :) I took the time to check the number of searches before giving the appraisal and it gets nadda, so obviously not a common term in the States either.

Definitely a real product; I buy them all the time in the US... just not online.

Where are you searching?

Google: Peanut Butter Crackers (1,530,000), "Peanut Butter Crackers" (58,600)

Yahoo: Peanut Butter Crackers (1,840,000), "Peanut Butter Crackers" (84,100)

MSN: Peanut Butter Crackers (713,810), "Peanut Butter Crackers" (14,229)

Potential End Users

Little Debbie
Lance
Nabisco
etc...

Maybe people don't buy peanut butter crackers online, but domains like this can be monetized to do just that. Possibilities in this industry are created, not waited for....Anybody heard of Frank Schilling's RumCakes.com story?

And you don't have to use this site to sell peanut butter crackers to monetize it. You have homemade peanut butter cracker recipes, etc. It can even be made into a humor site. Many ways to monetize this one.

Google Traffic Estimator.

Sure, you can create buzz around a particular keyword, but generating that buzz costs a lot more then what it does if you have searchers already looking for your product/service.

You're right; natural type-in traffic is cheaper, easier and faster. BUT we're not talking about saving money, are we? We're talking about producing revenue. ;)

Which there are other ways to obtain this other than parking and collecting on natural type-in traffic. Since this domain is fresh regged, there's no way to tell what the type-in value is of yet. But either way, there are more ways to monetize other than parking. And if you have other goals in mind (which I do and forget not everyone develops, I apologize) then type-in value may not apply in some cases.

Lack of natural type-in traffic wasn't the only point I was making. Doing SEO for the term would generate very little traffic as well, as you would have to create buzz for the term. The effort and cost involved in monetizing the domain should surely factor into appraisals, no?

Sure, depending on short term, long term and one time costs. Also, creating buzz doesn't have to cost money. (Maybe time which is also based on short term, long term) It wouldn't be hard to use the power of search engines to monetize it.

The same could be said about any domain though.

I hope the OP proves me wrong, I just try and be practical in these appraisal threads.

And you're fully entitled to it! :)

Just wanted to clarify my appraisal since so many others were disagreeing.

Sorry BUT search engine results do not equal to SEARCHES.

Even if there was any search, only first page results would get decent traffic relative to searches count.

I agree that value is slightly above zero, and don't think it's easy to monetize.

Even generic candy-related domain names are VERY HARD to monetize, leave alone a domain that points to what appears to be a single product/

nurca, from what I know of you, you're a master of end user sales.
Keeping that in mind, I know that you can sell this one for mid xxx upwards to even mid x,xxx (for a very motivated buyer).
Reseller price, of course, would be somewhere around mid xx
