Even the biggest players will hemorrage from doing the Pool routine every day.

Mole, you are correct. It is illogical for a business person to bid wildly.

As many of you know, I was a big user of Pool. And, I think I have only won
a couple since they went with this new system.
(Only because the names were already on my Pool watchlist.)

Furthermore, I have stopped putting names on the watchlist for the past 30 days.
If I don't get a name at Pool, I don't care.

Therefore, I rarely visit Pool.

And, I agree with Ken that Pool's revenue must be down. I speculate it must
be down 50 - 70% :'(

Additionally, they have some admin (fixed) cost such as rent, skeleton staff, etc.
which they still have to cover. So, they still need our business.

I also speculate we will hear something from them in Oct.
I really thought they would have announced it by now.
Maybe, they will announce it at TRAFFIC?

Over the last few days, Pool has caught only a few (less than 10%) of the high value .info names, despite the fact that they have been pushing .infos hard by listing them on the front pages and in the hotlists. Just about EVERYONE beat them.

Sounds like Pool may be in some hot water.
