Hi, can someone tell me how to edit the text for the site name and site description please. They are reffered to as {SITENAME} & {SITE_DESCRIPTION} in the overall_header.tpl I want to change the color and the font.

I tried mixing in some html with the text in each input box on the General Configuration/General board settings' page with desasterous results lol

It's the version loaded directly via cpanel "Powered by phpBB 2.0.10"
Thanks in advance

This sucks, I have the same script I think! Is it for automatic phpbb forums? I had the same problem. Good luck!

You can change CSS definitions from the control panel, or some authors give you a CSS file.

Thanks for the reply GD. There is a subSilver.css file but I can't see any specific reference to the site nam/description. Short of changing the font/color for the whole board, i'm stumped.

Wish I knew more about how to use both PhP and MySQL. Thanks to my dedicated server manager we managed to get a recent php script I got here running. Turned out there was an ocscure little known file missing on the server.

I have just gone through the same this evening - I actually took out that text entirely and created my own header area (overall_header.tpl).

Just create your own CSS definition for that particular text, ie: class="headertext", and then add that definition to the CSS table.

Sharpy, you should "viewsource" on the HTML, and see what replaces {SITENAME}. If a "span" tag goes in there, it will override anything you put around it, if a "class" is applied to the span tag. The complicated problem with phpBB, is that its default template lets you control many styles from the control panel, but this can be overriden by changing the template. Some templates may ONLY use an external CSS... so its definitely not very straight forward.

Best,

Sharpy:

Your Cubs forum is looking pretty good - good luck with it. Looks like we're both starting forums at the same time
