Hi;

If anyone has a lot of knowledge with the popular cms's, please contact me.

I have two celebritys I'd like to develop to be user orientated.

Please PM me.

Out of the two you named before the etc I wouldn't touch phpnuke... I've seen too many hacked sites lately. xoops is good, there's also postnuke, MD-pro, and some others I'd recommend. What cms to use however will depend a lot on what you want to do with it, how you want it to look, and so on... some are easier to configure for some aspects than others and vice versa depending on the needs.

All I'd like is a clean looking site thats user orientated.

Users should be able to everything. post downloads, images, forum etc etc with the minimal use of an admin.

Any ideas?

Okay, here you first started with a very vague statement of clean looking, user oriented. You proceeded to users should be able to do everything and began a list that ends in etc etc...

From what you did put in your list, I'd recommend postnuke which although no better than the others for the other items on your list, it does have a phpbb forum adapted for the cms (pnphpbb) that drops into it as a module... no extra designing or layout to make it fit with the rest of your site. MD-pro provides a forum module as well. I honestly don't remember if xoops does or not since I've used it only a couple of times. Now depending on what your etc's are supposed to be that may change to another recommendation, although postnuke is pretty inclusive as far as features and what it doesn't have built in, usually a hack (sometimes a complete module) has been provided. The newest version has it's own templating environment that looks rather promising.

I've had a lot of expiriance with xoops. Really quick install and has a large community supporting it. Never heard of anyone hacking it. Constant updates are issued. I could install it for you if you needed. PM if you need anymore help. I'll show you an example of one that I've set up.

jojo.. since you've had a lot more experience with xoops than I have can you remember if it has a forum module or if it has to be installed separately... I couldn't remember so I suggested postnuke instead.

it has NewBB. Its a module that they include no matter what but its an optional install. New verison of it is in the works. Also a new core for xoops is being developed.

IMHO Mambo OS can do everything you want ... and more. More flexible than PHPNuke could ever be.

I've taken a look at mambo and xoops - its the templates/themes that I need to find. I have taken a look at some of those that I have found but don't float my boat - and I know its a lot of research to get into themes etc.

Can I take a look at your xoops jojoyohan? Also, anyone good alround with Mambo and Xoops themes?
