1. acnefreeskin.com - This is the type of domain name that I think is most valuable in the longrun (benefit-laden, descriptive names). You know exactly what benefit you're going to get (or hope to get) by reading the name of the domain. People don't buy pimple cream because they think it matches their hair color. They buy it because they think it's going to give them beautiful, clean, healthy, acne-free skin. This market has been oversaturated and diluted for many years now, but this doesn't mean you can't find a market gap to take advantage of.

a.) You could use it as an affiliate site with reviews and comments sent in from visitors who've successfully or unsuccessfully used a certain product to get rid of their acne. This is the community-building approach. Once you build up your traffic and links you could offer your domain name to a few of the companies you can find here: http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=acne+care

b.) You could write a compelling, emotion-driven salesletter and sell a single "acne-related" skin care product and use a drop shipper to fulfill all of your orders for you. Sell it off later for a much larger profit. Maybe a skin care company that needs an acne care product to add to their line.

$10-$15 - just as a domain name.
$1,000+ - if you develop it right.

You'll be lucky if you get anything for the domain names above. Sorry.

javapalace.com - This is a name that would have to be branded and publicized properly to have any commercial appeal. But, as a repository of java source code; java-related articles, tuturials, tips, secrets; and comments and discussions from java programmers -- I think it could become a well-defined java community.

$5-$10 for just the domain name.
$500+ with a little effort as a developed community.

P.S. - You're better off avoiding eBay for now.

At last someone had the balls to say it outloud. Everybody seems to prefer to come up with ridiculous unrealistic ideas for useless domains..

to everybody doing that: stop registering stupid names, you're never gonna sell them. you're just making registrars rich

Because you usually don't get top dollar for a domain name on eBay; and unless you develop these names with sufficient traffic, I don't see much hope.

But good luck though,
Chris
