OK guys. Thank you for your feedback :D

That was a small experiment that will demonstrate to you that no matter what one says, go with your gut feeling.

Normally, I don't disclose numbers, but for the sake of this lesson in Appraisals 101, I will:

Eyedol.com was sold today for $400.

It probably looked worthless to many when I registered it 2 years ago, but I liked it so much that I renewed it this year. Its new owner has an online model agency.

Who said the dot-com era is dead? :D

Hey, you asked for appraisals and you didn't own it! You know the rules!

I like those kinds of sales... one man's trash is another man's treasure ..

"Eyedol.com was sold today for $400."

Congratulations ... there ARE exceptions to every rule, I guess! :D
If one were to check in with WhoIs, would one note a reflection of today's sale now, or would it take a few hours to find its way through the system? Just curious.
Thanks.

Excellent! :)

"It probably looked worthless to many when I registered it 2 years ago."

It's odd, because Whois states that is was only created on March 26, 2002 ... which, of course, is much LESS than two years ago.
And, Whois also states that the last updated on date was on that same day, March 26, 2002. Am I interpreting Whois incorrectly? I'm just curious. Thanks.

What I meant was, that the domain was registered and renewed into its second year, I didn't let it expire. So in that sense, I "invested" 2 years worth of registration fees into it.

Domain records don't change their timestamp, apparently, when an Enom push occurs. The last change, March 26th of this year, occured when I moved it from Stargate.com to Enom.
