Please appraise my domain Polkadot.com.

Last 6 days it receives about 500 unique making $18. Estibot appraises it $52,000. Anyone want to appraise?

Thanks.

I suppose you'll get traffic not related to Polkadot [Graphic Studio] com.pl, which is not so well known and their website hasn't got enough traffic. It'll be related to 'job in the UK' as polkadot (dot) pl is a service for Polish women planning to work in the UK (they've got Alexa from the first 500,000 and growing up). Better idea is to optimize it at Sedo in Job category (the best with polish language and keywords).
Value will depend on traffic and revenue in this case as I wouldn't count on end-user sale.
Good luck.

Nice Varchar :) Assuming 90$/month of revenue and .com (but with polish traffic ?) you can get 16 - 20 months of revenue so lets say over 2000 $ (+/- 500 $ :) - based on revenue only, of course. In case it is stable.

Good luck

Ps. Estibot's value appraisal is really unreliable.

16-20 months of revenue? Most people I know talk at least 3 years. I don't put very much weight on parking revenues to determine the value of a domain though. A few cents a click is hardly justification for valuation.

The Polish design studio is a good candidate for typos, but as pointed out, pretty obscure. The job thing as well.

If you search "polkadot" in Google those sites aren't even in the first 4 or 5 pages of results (I didn't look further). There's a bunch of other design sites, PR firms, crafts sites, etc. that could be the target for type in traffic.

I think targeting Polish "jobs" on Sedo is bad advice. You could be opening yourself up to a clear udrp case with that company.

I'd say this could go to any one of the many "polkadot" companies out there but in the meantime you need to be careful in developing it that you wouldn't step on anyone's toes that already has a established "polkadot" business willing to drop down for a WIPO case.

I'd say 10-20k is a fair price if you can find a buyer.

I can agree that if you can hold out for an enduser...you can get low xx,xxx - maybe 2x,xxx. I think 52k is quite a stretch though.

I would say mid xxxx reseller.

Fatbat: Sorry to say but you're almost completely wrong!

For resellers and traffic buyers this is a normal price assuming non-english traffic (especially for polish one I am sooo sure). Would be nice to get more but it does not happen in 99%, lets say. Don't think about this name as about english one only because it is dot com!

Please understand that this is not a typo - just other .ext.
In Google polkadot.pl (service devoted to polish women working in UK) is the FIRST one for over 10 millions of results, always if you type polkadot, polka dot or "polka dot" - over 8 millions results. I use normal connection and a proxy one so Google dont determine my location (so I can use google.com instead of google.pl).
Please check up again! You're definitely not right.

If he wants to park this kind of name with some profit, keywords related to job etc. (mostly in polish) are the only solution. I know it after having bunch of polish job names. And you know how big is job emigration from Poland to UK? It is huuuuuge, unfortunately. This is why this name has decent revenue and CTR (I suppose but Varchar can correct me).
I can say that THE PATENT OFFICE OF THE REPUBLIC OF POLAND has not registered any TM concerning neither polkadot, nor polka dot nor polkadot.pl, polkadot.com. This is what I've checked up in their database although there can be still some TM issue (according to my experience: less than 1% :)

Can you tell us what's your experience with this type of european names. Have you ever sold one even? Your price can be acceptable for really craaaaazy end user but is far from reality. Although I am honestly wishing Varchar will sell it for even more!!!!!

Why are you so fixated on the Polish angle? It's not a European name. It's a common English word for a pattern of dots on fabric or other decorative surface. Hence 2.5 million Google results most of which have nothing to do with Poland or Europe.

My first results in Google are...

Yes, you're right. These are mostly design firms with Alexa:

polkadotdesign.com - 115,100
polkadotjewellery.co.uk - 2,304,980
polkadot.it - 2,403,386
polkadotchallenge.co.uk - 5,662,542
polkadotpr.com.au - 5,047,055
polkadotdenver.com - 8,488,438
polka.com.au - 10,569,949
polkadotgallery.com - 5,511,307

but also:
polkadot.pl - 334,810

I must admit it can be also design related traffic. This is a good evidence now concerning the first address you gave. You're right. Varchar knows where this traffic originates from and what is his Euro/click.

Still remember, that polkadot.pl is number 1 in Google as I've written above.
Also, optimizing for 'job' on Sedo is not so risky.
And I still remember :), that Polka means just 'Polish woman' what you can't exclude from searches!
If there is no polish traffic than let me apologize you for my too fast reaction giving some DNF$ as a sign of my good will :)

No worries, there's nothing but goodwill around these parts. A good debate is always enjoyable :) I didn't say there wouldn't be any Polish traffic mind you, it's just not going to be the only source and maybe if that's the case, optimizing or designing from an English angle would be more profitable and lead to an eventual sale. I'm thinking arts and crafts myself.

Either way, cool name and I wish Varchar all the best with it!

Thank you. That's a lot of info. :) For now I will be parking it until some of my current projects clear up. I have been looking for a domain for a baby shop and I think this name makes sense for it.

I think a baby shop is an excellent idea.
