But, if they are going to have auctions after the fact, why not just open them up? Has anyone tried bidding on a domain after it's been caught by Pool?

but they're missing names from Namefox, Dropcatcher, Dropwizard, Nicgenie, Thefirstname, Pool.com, Godaddy....

None of the names I have been after in the past two months have been caught by ANY of these services so that doesn't worry me.

This sounds interesting. I only have so much time in the day to bid places. I kind of like the idea of bidding after a name drops. I'm wondering though if the anticipation that draws high bids at namewinner will be the same or more once they actually get a name or not. I think ICANN might get a letter from me asking if this is kosher.

30,000 domains is a lot, so presumably they're fairly average quality. Hence, the likelyhood of them being caught is quite high.

Have you considered what you'll do if they get 1% of the names you entered?

Are you saying that if 10 people are watching a name and Pool.com catches it, all 10 people have to pay $60 to continue with the bidding process? The way that I understand it is only the high bidder has to pay.
