I believe everyone else gave up not pool. Who wants to go through the headaches of a transfer just to list a name for sale.

Indeed the whole transfer procedure does not worth the headache for domains lower then $1K. And for the ones at a higher value, I would not trust them to handle the transaction.

They killed it by having that stupid transfer thing & by shoving in all their own crap in there so no-one wants to bother looking through all the crud anymore!

Not to sound like an apologist for pool, but it looks to me like they realized having a more focused list would be better.

I agree with cyphix - it looks like they got rid of all the crud. Now that section of the site might actually be successful.

i dont like the idea of Pool temporarily holding my domains before any sale occur.

if a sale occur and they provide the escrow service, i do not mind.

I listed 3 domains that did not sell. I requested they return the domains to me...that was almost a month ago and I still don't have the domains.

Pool sux.
Their auction is illigal and they probably violate nexus when they catch .us domains.
Bring FTC on. Then bring WLS.

Turning into another WLS discussion. If there is/was a WLS there will be those "blink" that spend their cash on subcribing and selling the subsciptions before they even drop for ungodly amounts of dollars so what good would it do?

As I've said before and I'll say again. There's not as much thrill in buying a domain from another than there is catching the domain as it drops. It's a gamble, an addiction if you will. If the need is there then your pockets get deeper. The concept of tranferring the domain over to pool just because they have traffic is a joke and they waisted their money doing it. If on the otherhand they made it just like ever other service and charged a few per sale it probably would have succeeded.

I went thru the exercise of selling a domain at Pool.

It was sold three times. And, apparently, the third buyer must be going thru with payment.

However, Pool holds the money for 75 days to make sure the charge goes thru.

Even though, I sold it for a nice profit. And, a have over 60 names at NameScout.
I have no plans to use them again. Unless, they totally change the whole process.

Don't you hate when one successfull model plan company starts believing that they are God's gift to mankind, and then they start messing around with something they have no idea with.

A couple of the major players (as a general rule) do not buy names from other
domainers.

Maybe, BD and Caymans do not want to worry about if they are getting a
clear title for a domain they might buy from one of us.

Whereas, with a drop. They automatically have clear title. Maybe, they are
willing to pay for that insurance.

Ult buys names from domainers.
I don't understand why not, if the price is right.

Ult indeed buys stolen domains. like presents.com. ANd netsol could give a damn. They allow the transfer no ?s asked even when alerted that the name was stolen. Old owner disappeared. Wont even look into third party "tip off".
