Anyone checked out the Popular-Domains.com site?

It offers a search on expiring domains and a search on the domain in major search engines.

They offer a software download for $199 - a ripoff!
I'm actually doing my own version of it - it works off the back of LocalWhois and just searches Yahoo, AltaVista etc and displays a list of hits! How simple is that and they've probably made loads off gullible punters already.

Devolution, it's not the hammer that they pay for, it's knowing how to use it :D

Are you using visual basic or some other coding language?

I'm using Delphi 6 - I've always been best at Pascal.

I'm going to include it on my SupaWhois.com site as a free download - I'd like to see what Popular Domains will think of that! I'll be offering a Pro version too, but I will charge a small fee (say $19.99 or something like that) for that.

Oh cool, Delphi is definitely a great tool. I never used visual tools as in my time we worked with Turbo Pascal 3 and 4 LOL

devolution is it actually legal to run it back off LocalWhois? I started something like that a few weeks back but stopped because thought it wasn't legal so stopped. Unless let's say you are referring to the affiliate program and asked them for permission then I suppose it's a different story

As PD themselves include the deleteddomains database i would not worry about the legal things too much....:D
Of course could be that PD has bought a licence from DD - could be...

Or maybe PD created their own database? Sounds possible... though in the long run wonder how they are going to survive having their bandwidth eaten up...

On their site PD clearly state that one of the main features is the deleteddomains database inclusion - including all filter options.

They updated the program, it used to be just "expired domains search", or something like that, then I guess DD found out and they did something.
