In fact after so much arguing over bids and such on this board over other names it is refreshing to hear someone with a professional and reasonable approach such as Wesley's.

I agree about all the arguing. I'm kinda tired of hearing it all, you know? haha.

I appreciate your compliment as well.

I think the board is actually on GMT. I was watching it closely and was going to place my bid close to the time I thought it was stated to end, and then my wife came along and distracted me... lol

So, cheers for whomever gets it!

But I was not arguing, just thought you got something wrong and wanted to inform you. I hope I did not confuse you... :-O ... well, I agree with wolfis though, but it's you two and the seller who should decide who gets the domain. I wish you good luck with your future domain acquisitions and sales!

I wasn't referring to you personally - just some of the other past auctions and sales have been hotly contested at times.

Hi Dominik,

Yeah, I don't think anyone took offense to you pointing out your take on the situation. No worries. ;)

Markits... any word on this?

I replied back with my email and double checked it since you said it didn't work the first time. I am still waiting for details. ;)

Thanks... I did get your PM.

I am considering the SEDO escrow, but I want to research it a bit to know what risks there are. I have heard horror stories about payments through SEDO and AfterNIC, so I am very hesitant to use them.

I will let you know soon...

Update: I got a response from the SEDO escrow, and they just told me to follow the instructions on the page which I already followed the instructions on to send them the email in the first place.

In other words, it sounds like they do not yet have it together.

Since it's "amateur night" over at SEDO for this service, I am giving them one chance to redeem themselves in their next reply. If it is not satisfactory, then I suggest we use the typical escrow.com service.

Thanks,

Wesley

Did the sale ever occur? Thanks.

Hi Classic,

Slowly but surely it is progressing.

We went with escrow.com since SEDO dropped the ball, and I have sent payment. Awaiting transfer as of midday today. Then, we'll be good.

Cheers,

Wesley

Congrats guys on a nice sale!

I prefer Escrow.com as they have given me great service in the past, and even helped me to get a buyer off his duff to complete a deal! They would (at this point) be my first recomendation.

Thanks Webcat,

I agree with you about escrow.com. It is sometimes tough to get people to work with me because we are not in the U.S., but escrow.com has done a great job so far. ;)

We have used them to purchase roughly seven names so far (ones over $1,000).

Cheers,

Wesley

Great. Aren;t services like escrow.com an extra step of botheration ? Who paid the escrow fees ?

Yes, it is a bother but is necessary in some cases --especially when you want to assure the buyer of payment but want an easily contractual agreement allowing an inspection period.

For instance, we agreed on a 7-day inspection period where I reviewed the pagerank, traffic, etc. I paid after 4 days, but I like the flexibility.

Since I pushed for escrow, I paid the fees but I typically split the fees with the seller/buyer.

Cheers,

Wesley
