I just bought premium.com
What's your opinion about it ?

Traffic: ~120-150 visitors a day
635 million Google results
quite poor ~10k Overture hits (without combinations)

Hi smyl

now that's a "premium" domain name!

could be one of the top sites to check for lists of "Premium" domain names for sale or auction!

very generic, so applications can vary to brand many products.

6 figures

Quality name.

Perhaps you could publish the price that you paid at dnjournal.com.

Looking at Google you have to wonder why the various companies in the results did not snap this up. I really can´t understand them, one company (Premium Something) even seems to be buying brand name web sites!

I would guess $100k.

I will bring this back down to earth...

I see value in the name due to premium as defined below:

"payment for insurance"

I would value this domain at 30k

120-150 type-in visits per day, with most of those people looking for insurance content?

$50,000 +

I would venture to guess that the "right" buyer WILL pay. Hold out until they arrive....high xx,xxx but hold out for low/mid xxx, xxx. There are just too many companies that could use this name for ANY specific product (outside of the insurance arena). Big corps. could market the hell out of this generic! Names like these are only going up these days. Great grab!

based on the domain's keyword, and its relative average size i would say as of right now (may2006)...$125K - $175K.

the "brand" is in the name.

Dead solid on, Adam ... although even in that context, the term is only nominally searched. Still, it's a highly brandable name if paired with the right corporate end-user.

Nevertheless, it never ceases to amaze at how people are so quick to casually toss around six-figure valuations. We routinely come face-to-face with senior corporate decision-makers and Web-savvy Madison Avenue advertising agencies in behalf of our clients; and I can assure you (all) that creating and closing meaningful six-figure domain sales is no picnic.
