Guys and gals, if you want to embarrass yourselves posting "premium letters" for domains that contain the less worthy Q,V,X,Y,Z,J (even K to some) please do us a favor and look up the definition of the word "premium" in the dictionary.

I suggest that you leave the word PREMIUM out of your thread all together.

But that's hypothetical. Those domains are not in the market.

Unless someone dishes out more .mobi garbage :D

no, but fix.com - iz.com - ny.org - wu.net - cy.com - je.com - sex.info - xmas.com are on the market- given that they respond to a post within an asking price range, you are going to refuse them, and take frp.com instead because they are "good" letters"??

Looking for good one-Letter dot-coms. No J,K,Q,U,V,X,Y or Z. Must be pronouncable, like i.com, c.com, or u.com. Budget: Mid $X,XXX - Flexible on price, if the letter is really good.

Show me where "on the market" they are here on DNF. My post is related to the silly habits - and copycat manner - of sellers on DNF declaring as "premium" junky letters. Your examples are extreme. No-one with the domains you mentioned would list them as "premium letters"; they'd capitalize on other aspects of their value.

I've seen potential sellers push the 'pronouncable' 4 letter .com's past the limit of what's reasonable. I mean really.

Agreed.

But on the matter of what is 'premium' and what is not - I like another poster have a few 'non-premium' LLLL's getting great traffic... from China. The Chinese use these non-premium characters as much or more than the 'premium' ones.

It's all subjective as what's not premium to one person is to another. Not everyone speaks English!

The definition of "premium" is in the dictionary. Whether XZQ means something in Klingon or Chinese, is irrelevant.

Premium
n.
1. A prize or award.
2. Something offered free or at a reduced price as an inducement to buy something else.
3. A sum of money or bonus paid in addition to a regular price, salary, or other amount.
4. The amount paid, often in addition to the interest, to obtain a loan.
5. The amount paid or payable, often in installments, for an insurance policy.
6. The amount at which something is valued above its par or nominal value, as money or securities.
7. The amount at which a securities option is bought or sold.
8. Payment for training in a trade or profession.
9. An unusual or high value

Says nothing about the letters j,x,z etc.

Good. Now look at the adjective:

–adjective

Of exceptional quality or greater value than others of its kind; superior: a wine made of premium grapes.

Please do not question what seasoned domainers have established to be letters of premium quality. Otherwise you too will be ridiculed the next time you use the term "premium" alongside junk letters.

I am not going to argue with your point that some domainers have pegged a certain character set as premium - that's a reality.

But not everyone is a domainer or could care less what some think are premium or not - aka - the end-user. With 100's of millions of potential customers in China who use x,z,q etc much more than we English speakers downplaying their potential may equal a loss of money down the road.

In 2005 China had the 6th largest GDP. Their economy continues to grow at 10% per year. Some of them have money and they can have my non-premium letters at premium prices.
