What "domain theif"? My interest is in security not gossip, so just point me to the post where problems / security issues were discussed.

Thanks!

You can still protect your identity even without getting this service. Instead of using your full name to your domain name registration, use something like "Domain Manager" though you have to provide your valid email address for retriving password just in case.

This is the way I register my domains, proxing my own identity :D

What if it's disputed and you have to supply proof of ownership? Would an email address work for that?

They've lowered the price to $6.

If that comes, then you have to update your records. The email address will only be needed just in case you forgot your password.

I still save a lot if I do my own proxy, I managed 500+ domains excluding clients/partners.

If you got couples of domains and still worried about it, I guess go for it.
