the amount I paid is certainly not enough to be considered a 'big cash infusion'. I'm not really sure why they parted with the name, but I'm pleased they did. One thing I have noticed that Australians and Australian companies are pretty loyal to their .com.au domain, much more so than other countries are dedicated to their country-code names. Perhaps that is why they chose to sell it, they wanted to focus on their .com.au branding identity.
Since Rams.com.au appears to have been using the .com for their loan business for several years, there is no chance that they sold it out of fear of a WIPO UDRP.
My philosophy on life is not to second-guess good luck, cuz i certainly have enough bad luck to deal with. The total value of the domain purchases I've screwed up is in the low seven figures...EM.com, homeowners.com, trade.com, atlas.com, etc.
