Got this domain a while ago to develop as a picture rating site, which I will at some point but I'm interested to hear (good or bad) what you think it's worth. I'd say a little more than $8.88 but I'd be interested to hear what anyone else has to say.

Mike

ok if it's rate a ten ... then why would he/she need to be rated, they are already a 10?

I think its suppose to be Rate-A-Ten.com, as in a scale of hotness.

But it also reads as "Rat Eaten.com" lol

Personally, I see Rat Eaten. The fact that you have to look at it for a few seconds before deciding what it reads is a negative in my mind. I'm not a big fan of multiple word domains anyway in most cases unless it reads clearly.

Sorry but it's terrible.

There's better names out there, why spend 50 hours working on a site that will be much better with the purchase of a $50 to $200 suitable name?

Thanks for the input, I'd not even thought of the rat eaten angle!!

In my defence, every time I (or more importantly anyone else) logs into AIM, they get a popup which points to AOL's picture rating site, with the words "Rate a 10?"

I'll take all this onboard and put a dotcombuilder site up and sell it on ebay, hoping to get my 8.88 back :)

I seriously entered this thread as I didnt know what people were saying about rat eaten (which is what I thought you meant until I read the post).

It really really looks like rat eaten.
$0 sorry

Seeker,

Don't be sorry, you all saved me from spending time and money developing and marketing a site about eating rats .............................. hey, it might catch on ;)

Seriously, might be a good site to sell rat/mouse traps and/or bait? I thought it was "rat eaten" my self. Too bad you cant capitalize domain names like rateAten.

Rat Eaten... Yes... That's what I thought it was too. Perhaps put a half eaten rat on there.. No idea, but not worth much.

I guess I didn't see anybody eating rats, because I am familiar with related domains. But this domain alone is not worth much IMO.

I have
RatingPics.com
RateABabe.com
RateFemales.com
PickYourButt.com

That I may soon develop with this type of content.

I saw RateABabe.com available awhile back, was going to grab it but kept putting it off... guess its too late now :D

Been registered to me for almost a year, and it was caught on a drop, so it was probably another name or over 2 years ago.

I saw Rat Eaten too. This is one case where the hyphens would actually help. It's easier to distinguish rate-a-ten from rat-eaten.

hmm..might have been the .net, I would have to check some old lists I have sitting around :)

Haha... wondered why everyone was talking so much about RatEaten.com
