Raw Clams, worthless as I don't believe these are even etable are they? Raw Oysters are a whole other ballgame though.

Yes, I have lived near the shore. I went to many clam bakes, but never say anyone eat a raw clam ... oyster yes, clam .. no.

Can anyone else who reads this post reaffirm my stance in that there are Raw Clams and people do in fact eat them....I was at an all you can eat seafood buffet last weekend in fact and consumed approximately 25 of them.....

they are called clams on a half shell...cherry stones and little necks.....please someone save my sanity....

There is quite a large market for "raw" clams eventhough I won't down something like that. Great for a seafood market or to develop into an adult site. I developed ClamShots.com a few years ago and it brought in a good nugget.

Domain alone $750-$1000

Developed (our first year brought in 5K)

Yes people do eat raw clams, but it's not necessarily advisable.

"The Food and Drug Administration notes that 85 percent of seafood-borne illness is caused by eating raw mollusks, including oysters, clams, mussels and whole scallops."
