I've recently purchased a few expiring domain names that have links on hundreds of other sites. I've pointed the names to an adult site I have, and am getting some decent traffic.

I'm now looking to purchase other domain names with links on other sites, but I have a question.

For instance, let's say I found a domain name -- "@@@@.com" -- and found from various sources that it had links to it from hundreds of other sites. So far so good.

But when I checked it out I found that these links were actually along the lines of "@@@@.com/category1/picture1.jpg".

And of course, both the "category" and the "picture" were different on almost all the links.

So the problem is, if I buy the name "@@@@.com" and point it to my adult site, then anyone clicking on "@@@@.com/category1/picture1.jpg" will arrive at a non-existant page.

Is there any way to resolve this?

Many thanks in advance.

yep
make a customised 404 Page which auto refreshs and redirects to the proper page.

I have similar situation like yours on this domain:
cpm-ccc.com

It listed in yahoo under two categories but both of them
pointing to a different folders in that domain:
http://search.yahoo.com/search/dir?p=cpm-ccc.com

After I regged it when it dropped, I created the same folders
which will do the trick.

You can do this with your situation. Just make this directory
and file:
"@@@@.com/category1/picture1.jpg"

You can put a intro image there or simply redirect to your main site.

And of course, both the "category" and the "picture" were different on almost all the links.

In this case .. you can use .htaccess (assuming your are in unix machine) to redirect traffics. I have never done this before but it should work.

goodluck,
