Don`t know about 3 character .org domains, but 3 LETTER .org -s are very good investment, if You get them for $6,95 and they sell starting $15 so You have easy money!

I don't think random 3 character .ORGs are worth much, especially containing mixed numbers and letters and/ or x, y, z, q, -, etc..
