If it happens it would be a very sad day for me. I will have to move hundreds of domains out of Enom. :[

I have heard right from the horses mouth that they are unequivocally not for sale and that ownership remains firmly in the control of Paul and Jim.

i believe register.com has very good support team which might be an addon for enom to have such support dept.

but for other services/pricing if it changes then that would be SO BAD

That would be a disaster for me. I have many thousands of names there.

Plus, I am very comfortable there.

I guess that is their answer to discount pricing. $ 20.

The site looks very similar to Enom's PDQ
( www.ExcellentName.com )

http://www.regdiscount.com

I wonder why they have the address as Annapolis instead of NY?
(Side note - As you can tell from the address in Annapolis. It is
not too far from the U.S. Naval Academy)

It looks like regdiscount is owned by
www.BetterWhois.com

And, I would bet that Barry Brooks? lives near Annapolis.
Eventhough, BetterWhois has a Wash. D.C. address.
From, Annapolis to his Wash, DC address is one hour drive,
one way.

I think Register.com is quite powerful to buy out Enom if they choose to... but I certainly hope not ... :)

I finished moving 99% of my domains out of register.com about 2 months ago.
I had ordered quite a lot of domains through betterwhois which offered a discount that was to apply on renewals as well. When the time came, register auto renewed all domains with NO discount. All contact was hopeless...
They have great support for daily things, but when it comes to refunds, good luck!
Anyhow, from what I understand, they are not doing too well financially (but then again I could be wrong), so how on earth would they buy enom?
More and more people are leaving register.com

Booked out of there 2 years ago after the first automatic renewal. ANd they make you do everything one name at a time. Folks. I know you all use enom and such. But I have been at Dotregister for two years and transfers are smooth, support is quick, and adding features all the time. Not to mention sub $7 domain years. Never lost a name, get renewal reminders 2 and 3 times per name. There was a time when I didn't care for them but after winning names and having to deal with dotster, namebay, regtek, it'syourdomain, enom, etc etc... DotRegg is the schit in my book. ANdthey will negotiate a price with you depending on how manynames you have.
