Thank you for using register.com, your first step on the web
The following domain name(s) have been successfully registered:

I highlighted the date and time.
Today, I received this in the mail:
Subj: DOMAIN NAME REGISTRATION INVOICE

Please note that the following domain name(s) are still pending registration:
hotdomains.us
You will be notified within 48-72 hours on the registration status for the name(s) listed above.
This is what I have received before Register is about to give the domain to someone who registered it *after* I did, despite their 'first come, first served' line of baloney. Also, notice that the second post came from NameBargain, Register's discount shop, and not Register.
If you use Register's whois and look up hotdomains.us, you will find me there. Please do, make copies to send to me and keep. That's me, Lee Scherer, my address, phone number, everything but the cat.
Before you paste the whois, it's easier to read if you right-justify the print, you know what that is, left-justify, centered, right- justify. It's all in there and Register has this time and date information: Registration Date: Wed Apr 24 19:22:00 GMT 2002Domain Expiration Date: Fri Apr 23 23:59:59 GMT Now, what's that babble?
I have never launched a lawsuit, mostly because I think the US is swamped in litigation and I don't want to contribute to the mess. But I am so pissed off that I'm considering making as much noise as possible. I'm not printing the thoughts I am having, to keep this place looking nice.
If you would make copies of the hotdomains.us information list, I would appreciate it if you would mail me a copy and keep one for yourself.
