I read in the news that EURid will release thousands of .EU domains currently listed as Application Pending. Does anyone know if it would be done as a land rush 2 or something? In the sense that you can try to pre register like it was possible prior 7 April, or can you just register the names by yourself when they are released by EURid? Any thoughts on this?

Keep an eye on EurID's website, they will release a list of names and the date they will be freed for registration. Contact a real fast registrar to have a good chance, like the guys from realtime.at.
I don't have an interest in this registrar, I just recommend them.
They're not cheap, but they are fast.

Realtime.at ? bah they su*k i had 20 domains with them and they could not register a single domain.i had Few of those domains with cheaper registrars which surprisingly captured them for me realtime.at was total disappointment and waste of money. But i still do admit they were quick enough to bring forward 4 out of 5 fastest apps becuase of such results people are flooding towards them they have huge queus and way less chance of getting names i cant believe eurodns beat realtime at GBP.EU i had gbp.eu in realtime.at but even eurodns beat them.
peace
