Hi,
just picked this up. All extensions gone & for singular. Lots of countries seem to use this phrase. Other options retirementhome , carehome etc.
Is this popular in states? We use it in England, but carehome is more popular.

nope. We use 'old peoples homes', 'retirement homes', 'retirement village', 'old folks homes'

never heard of Rest Homes before. Sorry!

More often in the states we use "nursing home" "elder care facility" or "retirement home".

This is a good domain. Even though we in the US do not currently use this term - everybody knows exactly what it means and it could very easily come back into vogue here (it was used post WW2). Much of the world recognizes this domain. I still remember the russian equivalent for this - DOM OTICA - and I took russian in college in the eighties.

Good domain.
