People trying to sell stupid domains. Domains that have no value and are figments of a deluded imagination.

Does anyone see this or is it just me?

allday everyday.
but you can still easily find good names here while elsewhere not. With huge reported sales more people are coming to the industry, registering names without any knowledge and spamming boards with stupid sales and auctions all over the world then. dnforum is still high level (most likely due to paid memberships)

Its nothing new. People see someone else selling "redcars.com" for $100K so they think their greenautoenginepartsinsantamaria.info is worth twice that.

Vital is right on two points, too. You can still find a good bargain (or one that is a good bargain to you) sometimes here and paid memberships helps weed out spammers plus those willing to pay for a member ship are a little more serious with their accounts and sales.

Also, having companies like GoDaddy pushing over-priced "premium" domains whenever you call them doesn't help either.

It's nuts. I can't sell generics now because of the 'noise' here taking up space.

they say if you want the bride to look beautiful , put two or three ugly girls around her :)

I guess this noise is very useful for generics

Are you stupid? My initial complaint/sentiment is that it obscures/obfuscates generics.

I can agree, you post your nice domain and then within a few hours it's pushed down the line with a ton of other sales but I don't think you should worry too much about it. Generics are always good and honestly some of my biggest purchases here are though the search function and not browsing - one that was almost two years after the post (I take it the former owner was glad they paid two more renewal fees!).

Keep your generics posted here and it's internally indexed plus though search engines. Even if someone comes up to you a year later, it can still be a sale.

DNF is far from the worst, look at ebay for example.
Now if you put generics on sale here, are resellers going to pay a fair price ?

My comment has nothing to do with eBay. You've been around here long enough to know how not to generalise a thread with nonsense.

Unfortunately they only think that as sellers, not as buyers.

Come on, Dale, how long have you been doing this? Don't tell me you've just noticed this now ;)

I think Dale means the number of very low value or worthless names as a percentage of all names for sale are probably at an all-time high.

Seems pretty constant to me. May be just because there are less quality domains for sale and a bit less activity overall

I agree. This forum which I joined two weeks ago is just a dumping ground for JUNK. I have posted HUNDREDS of generic domains and have had hardly any interest. If I had gone with the annual membership, I would not be renewing again.

Even in the exclusive section, hardly anything is any good.

However, I came into this community thinking it would be all about sales. I began to get frustrated when none were happening. I very quickly figured it out. However, I have gotten invaluable advice, experience and insight into the domaining world as a result of my membership here.

I beleive 95 percent of names posted dont get any real traffic at all, I also notice on sedo crappy names selling for just the same price as some nice names that probably get decent traffic
