whadda ya think? Being a sys-admin I kinda like this one myself. I've got an end user asking about it - whats the minimum I should accept if I'm not feeling too motivated to sell?

Thanks,
Rob

Hi Rob,

Nice name with a lot of potential!

I would say $500 for a quick sale.

You certainly should consider keeping it and developing it!

Again, quite a bit of potential with the name.

Good luck.

Take care,

Kevin

thanks for the input. I was thinking the same - if I needed some quick cash - $500... but its potentially worth alot more to the right end-user if I'm willing to wait. As always - its nice to hear everyone's opinions here - good or bad.

If I was going to develop, I was thinking a sys-admin resource center/forum kinda site. Or are there better ideas? Thanks again!

Rob

BTW - the fabulous.com domain valuation tool gave a value of $4500 for rootuser.com, if that means anything. Not sure how they come up with that, probably somehow based on the # of search results for rootuser in google or something like that.

Hi Rob,

A sys-admin resource center with or without a forum would be great.

You can use your experience and knowledge to put together a solid website.

And you could certainly realize a nice price in the future with a great domain name, developed site, numerous backlinks, solid PR, etc, if you decided to sell it.

And no question that "root user" is a popular term on Google. This is the result that I received when I did a Google search:

Results 1 - 10 of about 6,050,000 for root user.

I would not be in a hurry to sell the name, my friend, unless you really need the cash. The name will just get bigger in time.

Good luck.

Take care,

Kevin

Easy there!

Results 1 - 10 of about 203,000 for "root user".

still good results I'd focus on tools for system admin, security, a
forum for reviews would be ideal.

ya, when checking phrases in google you should "quote them"... I think Kevin used the unquoted results.

BTW - thanks to both of you for your input!
