I had a couple domains at safenames last year and had trouble transfering out, but got them out,
this year, i acquired 2 mores domains, and guess what they charge $71.00 per domain to transfer out,
they really suck,,

As far as I know that's "illegal". If safenames emailed you that such is the
case, so much the better to forward a copy of it to ICANN.

I have had a lot of recent problems with them myself. But I wasn't aware of the extra transfer fees. Certainly worth complaining to ICANN.

I have two domains at Safenames (thanks to Pool) and I want to transfer away. There is a confusing part of the website which refers to "transfer out" of your IDP but I don't want to screw anything up. Has anyone been successful with this or have their been any developments? I need to know how to proceed.

Good luck using safenames.
They are horrible.

I called them a few times to make sure , on the transfer out,
because there domain panel is confusing, especially if you received the domain from a drop, and a reseller set up the account for you,

I just successfully transfered two domains away from Safenames. I had to flag them for transfer out but everything seemed to go smoothly. It appears they were unlocked manually after they verified everything.
