Hi,

I'm the real new owner of science.info, I don't know something about the history of this domain before your posting here in dnforum and I have no contact with him before the auction on eBay started.
I won auction, paid by escrow and transfered domain to me, that's all, please believe me.

Regards,
Jens

So would this be considered a "hot" name, based on the non-payment of a previous owner? Effectively, it was stolen from NameTower if it wasn't paid for.

Didn't this go for a ridiculously low $x,xxx on Ebay recently, or did that auction fall through? Anyway, this domain is a spectacular .info. $xx,xxx minimum.

I could not find the ebay auction, however that's what the seller says: he bought it off ebay. The real issue here is that people are evaluating a domain that according to NameTower was stolen from him.

This thread contains another Ebay link relating to science.info: http://www.dnforum.com/showthread.php?t=92869. I hope this matter gets straightened out.

This name has a long history. The Nametower thing was new to me.

It started with an attorney for Dupont who registered it claimg a trademarke on "science." I am the owner of science.net and was trying to get it during the initial registrations of .info. I complained to ICANN and Afilias and it was released. See:

http://www.busrep.co.za/index.php?fArticleId=114723
http://www.dnso.org/clubpublic/ga/Arc08/msg00825.html
http://www.biglist.com/lists/lists.inta.org/tmtopics/archives/0108/msg00047.html

The next owner was very shady and when I insisted I use escrow with esqwire.com the owner refused. The domain was always changing whois and the Ebay seller was claimed to be an "agent" for the seller. I was prepared to pay more than what it sold for recently on Ebay but this new "agent" again refused to use esqwire.com.

I tried to negotiate with the current listed owner. I was prepared to pay the price sold on ebay plus throw in a prime .com or some other trade. The owner wanted 3 or 4 prime .coms plus more cash than what it sold on Ebay for.

If anyone ever gets this name and wants to do a normal transaction with escrow using esqwire.com I am interesed ... but it is a .info and I have the .net so i am not going crazy.
