Hi all,

As many of you know I am currently developing a forum for search engine optimization. Because of lack of time it is already taking way too long. But I have a deadline now, so I hope I'll make it in time. So, there will be the forum (with hopefully a lot of members) and...

Apart from the forum, I want to make some free tools (meta tag maker, maybe a url submitter, etc) available. What tools can I put there and where do I get the scripts (preferably free)?

Also, what are the best SEO software available?

Any other ideas / help / suggestions are more than welcome :D

Thanks,

...spietreser...

for scripts : got to www.hotscripts.com
as far as seo software : any software that claims to do this is a scam

im not sure what forum software you will be using but most forums find it hard to get threads spidered but theres probably a hack available to increase the chance of threads getting in

Mass search engine submission is, contrary to what most people think, VERY bad... the search engines can even ban your site for doing that...

The best way is getting links from websites related to the subject. You are most welcome to link to my website :D Thanks anyway for the offer...

I'm glad I found your website. SEO is one of my biggest difficulties, so it has just been added to my bookmarks.

I am also in the process of creating a network of hosting companies and will add you to my resource page(s)....

i personally wouldnt add the url submitter to your site - theres a high chance that it will get a site banned and is probably something you shouldnt promote on a seo forum

all of the major search engines want you to submit your site their way - not through software or a site

your search engine submission paeg submits to hundreds of ffa link farms and these can get you banned very easily as you are in effect cheating the system that search engines spend millions on making sure visitors get the right results

I am not so sure that the submission pages within each respective se is not a dummy page. I had sites that I have submitted weekly for months and never received an index and I have had ones that I never submitted but had other links in get indexed very quickly.

I am with spietreser as the best type of marketing one can do is to exchange links with sites that have high google page ranks and correlate with your sites content. This will get you indexed high (on google of course which is the only se even worth optimizing for) along with a dozen or so other tricks.

couldnt agree more
if webmasters spent more time improving the content of their site instead of looking for cheat tactics - theyll get many more visits

I thought the big SEs had given up on meta tags as well as so many people lied in them.

I wouldn't concentrate on meta-tags. Content must be your focus, then getting linked by other webmasters (hard if you don't have good content, trust me i know :D). If you are linked up, then you don't need to submit to the search engines because the SE's will follow the link to your website.
