was just browsing Sedo.fr and a popup window appeared asking if I want to install adware called "GAIN"... has this happened to anyone else?
i'm disapointed that Sedo does that

i went to sedo.fr, sedo.co.uk, sedo.com no adware prompt.
Could it be other popup from your other website?

Hi,
it's very unlikely it came from somewhere else as sedo.fr was the only window i had opened and it has never happened before, nor has it happened since exiting the site,
but yes it's possible

thought so too, but a scan of my system says it's clean
strangely it hasn't happened again...
i'm 99% sure it came from Sedo.

Looks like you've done everything properly for spyware and viruses. Do you have Windows Messenger turned off? Lots of spammers use that to pop a window.

Assuming you do, I'd send a nice polite email to sedo's customer service and ask nicely. I've been very happy with the level of their support everytime I've communicated with them. They might even have a company policy statement on popups...

Good luck.

I had Messenger turned ON... but no big deal... this only happened once, was just curious whether it happened to others.

I'm also delighted with the support Sedo provides... they're doing a good job!
