I would appreciate advice about how to construct an intra-site search mechanism, such as a blank field in one's site that a visitor can use to search for pages with type-in terms.

For example, can one use a directed link to Google or some other search engine set to search within one's site? Do Google or other search engines mind that?

Or is there some time of with-site search code in HTML or something?

My web site creation skills are pretty limited... but I am trying to learn more. Any advice appreciated. Thanks!

I use PicoSearch.com. Very customisable. And you can try it for free.
