Four out of four names I have listed @ Sedo 2-3 weeks ago are still not paid. There are two x,xxx and two xx,xxxx transactions are about to be cancelled next week due to non payment from the buyers...

What is your recent experience with them and how you handle such situations?

I sold a domain around a month ago for $XXX. No payment so far and no contact from Sedo. I tried emailing Sedo but get no response!

I have left 3! voice messages and sent 4 emails last week and no responce ... what they charge 10% for??! :?:

I find that picking up the phone and speaking to a representative is the most efficient method to expedite an on-going transaction. Not all representatives share the same amount of efficiency.

Waiting for payment for 2 of my domain for about 2 weeks lol , i though I was the only unlucky one :)

yeah.. well there is still no good alternative. Snap charges 20% and that's just too much.

P.S.: if anyone has contacts of a good and efficient sedo rep, please drop me a message!

Im still awaiting payment for a $xx,xxx transaction. Where do I find the phone #?

Sedo really are awful.

I've sold 3 names through auction, only 1 has gone through.

Granted I haven't sold their often, although a 33% success rate is appalling. Plus whenever I contacted their support they didn't care (IF they replied. I have a 10% reply rate with their support..)

Hopefully Reece's BQB.com will be a hit when it launches :) It's no commission (just a flat rate membership fee), so I'm hoping it'll beat back Sedo.

agree

recently closed on 5 figure sale at Sedo and even though the transaction was on pace, I placed a phone call just to get updates and expedite the deal.

Also, a note for those taking names to auction.

If a bidder submits a very competitive offer on your domain and you take it to auction without prior notice to that bidder, they may resent it and never pay.

Though I have not yet had a "non-paying" buyer (fingers crossed), I did get comment from a buyer who didn't like it when I took the name to auction.

but it remains our choice to try to get the best price.

hope your deals go thru!

Lost an $800 sale from sedo ... buyer never paid ... thanks sedo!

Everytime I have a transaction at Sedo I drop a PM to Sedocouk and they ALWAYS help me out. But that's for buying, not selling.

i've waited 5 weeks
(emailing & calling Sedo, but they didn't want to disclose the buyers identity)

i guess that don't contact buyers "manually"
they just send them automatic emails
a phone call or personal email would work better

they also don't enforce "binding" contracts... (if the buyer doesn't pay)

Good to hear all this, keep them coming. There isn't really an alternative is it?

yes about 6 months ago i sold one for 1k an the buyer said he made a mistake he thourt i was a difrent name i knew he was chatting bull

Last couple deals XXXX done within a couple of days, one deal I accepted on a Sat. and money in my paypal by Wednesday! Other deal was a website so took a week but I have seen deals going through increasingly fast.

Right. There some alternatives but they do not always work either.

so who do you recommend to park domains on if sedo is no good?

snapnames is a good alternative, but 20% commissions is just too much..

Just had another bad experience selling at Sedo. Pushed a domain to Sedo's godaddy account and no payment for almost a week. I ended up calling them after no response to my emails. THe funny thing is the domain was already in their account and they told me they would now process payment. Not sure why I had to call them to make sure they are doing their job.

The worse thing is the representative did not hang up the phone and continued to speak to his colleague several personal insults directed towards me! This alone shows Sedo reps stupidness and disrespect towards customers.

Looks like after 4-5 days no money for Derek.com yet :(

Also boxing.info, nwo.com and one other I cannot recall. All never paid, mind you I eventually sold them here after. But waiting the 7 days, watching , waiting more and nothing. The time is killer.
