I'm not a newbie... but have never dealt with a celebrity domain before.

I have a opportunity to purchase a celeb .com for a very low price. It's been appraised at Estibot for $15,000 (yes, I know - it's a rough estimate - but impressive just the same). Adwords Exact search: 1,600.

There are no legal problems attached to the domain... but certainly could be down the line. So my thought is I'm buying a potential headache.

I have no development plans - just want to flip it.

Most of you will likely agree, but just wanted to get some feedback from you who have dealt with these kind of domains before.

Thanks in advance.

If its a celeb's name how could there be no legal problems? Estibot is useless.

I think there's a good reason for that. I wouldn't do it personally.

But I guess it depends on your risk tolerance :-)

Ya, never mind. I've decided not to get it.

My greed took over my brain (and ethics) for a few moments :)

Thanks for the thoughts, guys.

So whats the name?. I might be greedy. lol

MessMeBot estimate means nothing.

It would be wise to stay away from TM names unless you are willing to take a risk and have a buyer ready.

Good choice IMO...

:yo:

Priceless advice.

If the price is low enough...sure take the risk...I don't think I'd risk more than grand though.

Johnn, you just gave us all a dangerous advice! :becky:

I'm not so concerned about the risk anymore... I just don't think it's cool to use somebody else's name as a domain.

I wouldn't want someone to do it to me.

Johnn, if you're addressing me, I posted this yesterday:

If that's "giving up", then yes. I gave up my avarice and selfishness :)
