At Namewinner: "There are 1274 Domains scheduled for deletion tomorrow [2/2]."

That is great!!!

Instead of buying domains, I will go to the beach.

Oh, yeah. It's 15 degrees (F) outside.

Maybe, I will offer some domains tomorrow, instead.

people, there's names going the 4th
WLS will have to have some warning before implementation. THINK ABOUT IT. . . registrars would have to have notice.

I'm sure the WLS backend people at Snapnames are twiddling their thumbs and all set to go.

The good thing about WLS is that it gives you an early warning heads-up that its either you go for the registrant or its game over.

If you were a reseller volume player, you probably realise how deadly this game is. "Oh, you want to buy my name? $500k please, I've already had 23 offers so far, but I may be willing to consider..." .

I think owners are just waiting for this flood to happen. They finally get to unload their names for a very tidy sum. And there is no guarantee, that a reseller will ever be able to recoup that $15k+ paid from an interested end-user.

The WLS will cause a massive vacuum cleaner effect sucking the capital out of many volume players. Straight cash, no volume discount, no benefit of bulk buying.

This is what I believe is most worrying to the big players.

The registars would know most likely.

At least one would leak the news or send a notice to customers to try and get profits the next morning or at midnight.

You'll be lucky if bludy BD catches the name and then opens it up immediately for sale at around $2k or more. If you get Ults catching it or Nameadmin or another prominent big time drop catcher, god bless you.

The WLS is a blessing for the BIG players. They don't worry about "capital" when it's $39 a pop compared to average bids of $1k (pool/nw) on the names these guys are after. . . . I don't get your thinking at all.

So what is the status of the WLS? Obviously people will be running the software themselves and have already made such preparations for the launch.

Can someone separate the fact from the fiction? While I do not plan to order a ton of names out of the starting gate some information would be nice on what is to be expected in the upcoming months.

PHEW! I'm glad others are seeing this too. I didn't see any discussion of it until today.

I wrote my own drop tracking scripts inhouse and all the domains that Exody published as pendingdelete/updated on 1/27 are now listed as updated on 1/29... that means that on Wed there is going to be a HUGE drop.
