VERISIGN!

Verisign could not enter the picture because it would be a conflict of interest.

However, I am sure Snap, Pool, Enom, NW and GD are not the last of the drop catchers.

Amazing it took Snapnames so long to convert to an auction model what with their steep decline almost into oblivion over the past 2 yrs. Hopefully they will manage to give Pool some good competition.

I lost hundreds of dollars to snap when they ceased catching domains and just abandoned my snaps. I agree, they should have converted those who had snaps pre-existing and honored their long time customers.

On the other hand, Pool is out of it's mind and enom has gone psycho. Godaddy is pure dribble. NW hasn't picked up a domain in months. So maybe now is a good time for Snap to get it's act together. But frankly, I'd like to see new, good people get into the game. People with some morals and ethics....

Yea, I know, I'm dreaming. :undecided

I've gotten great domains through both services. If you really want a certain name then you've got to cover all the bases.

Snap is a limited asset given that only 1 person can go for grabbing a name. What's your best recourse if the name's already spoken for?

Pool?

NameWinner?

Snap changed its policy few weeks ago. Now everyone can go for a single name. Its the same as Pool's old auction process.

Pool must be shut down.

You are so darn funny. You were the one that first advertised about pool.com on this forum. That was a pretty smart move and I can only imagine how many affiliates you obtained. You had nothing but the highest praise for Pool then.

Does pool not pay affiliate income any more? Are the revenues just not what they used to be?

What is happening to Pool? They seem to be missing a lot of names to Snapnames now, when in the past, only about 10-20% slipped through???

I’m still not very found of snapnames after loosing all my subscriptions. They should have kept the existing backorders instead of giving credits. But I don’t like pool or enom either. I’m still waiting for a company to start doing things right instead of competing for the worst service.

Depends on what was on your list.

We caught aik.net, farmed.com, computes.com, and theinformant.com, all of which had a good-number of bidders. But if they weren't on your list...

IMO Enom had a better day than Pool, and SN did have a bad day.
From my top ten list Pool caught:

babybumpers.com
rwc.com
tropicalrx.com

and Enom caught:

COMPUTES.COM
FISHSTICKS.COM
THEINFORMANT.COM
MARTINDALEHUBBLE.COM
FARMED.COM
TINYSLITS.COM
AIK.NET
