I was only interested in one name today (CHILD.ORG) and that went to Pool. Now its in the sealed bid process :veryangry

godaddy.com, but not sure if they ever catch anything. Pool just kills everyone on .US drops.

pool kills everyone in general by tearing you to pieces through your wallet.

You are so darn funny. You were the one that first advertised about pool.com on this forum. That was a pretty smart move and I can only imagine how many affiliates you obtained. You had nothing but the highest praise for Pool then.

Does pool not pay affiliate income any more? Are the revenues just not what they used to be?

 Classic,

I was just about to say the same thing when I saw his posts. You beat me to it.

I think the funny money is drying up and Pool knows it. When BD has to resort to free email and PPC for their 250,000 names to supplement their income, you start to smell some very perculiar in the air.

I am with You!
Now maybe yes the bids are a little lower then in pool, but time will bring back customers to snapnames and maybe also end-users and then You all complain again - Snap sucks and so on..

So that they could get registrar support for their drop fights.

I guess I don't need to remind what the new 2 phase system of Pool does - suffice to say you get screwed even if you are the only bidder of the name.

We need competition when the bullying gets out of hand.

Don't forget that Snapnames was the company who brought public professionalism to the drop game 3-4 years ago and gave a lot of us very good catches at a flat $49. Those days are over, but ungrateful fools are forever.

Well...with the auction system and no cost in the beginning, there will be now end to the high bidding. Even if you have 100 great drop catchers out there. The same morons that bid crazy bids....will use all of them to try to catch one name.

If you look at it...SnapNames and Pool are the same. Yes Pool is doing some odd things, but the prices would be the same once everyone starts using SnapNames again. No end to it.

Good point....but money is the root of all evil. They will find ways to get more out of you eventually.. Pool started out this way to....but now look at them.

Scoobydoobydoowhereareyou.com...of course they are not the same. Snaps was destinied to run the WLS system. Pool was just an opportunisitic parasite of the system. What happened to WLS? Call up ICANN and give them a good beating, I say ...

I disagree that SN will ever be like Pool. SN's first step to the new auction system was to show bidders who they are bidding against. And I believe that they stuck it out long enough, attempting to continue at the $69 backorders. Finally realizing they had to close down shop or adapt to the new market, they chose the latter. SN customer service has always been great, and Shantel doesn't work there :) Oh she doesn't work at pool anymore either, or does she? :p

And WLS is far off in the future, at least 7-8 months :)

Final update:

TravelQuest.com - Closed at $6,100

Rebuild.com - Closed at $4,200

Tell me about being a little guy. I held up the competition slightly above $2k for each of them, but them someone with a large wallet killed me (who is this guy VA on snapnames). :dead: :dead:

May be next time. :disappoin

Looks like Pool cleaned up today!! None of the other services caught too much of anything from my list of 125 names!!

And Enom did VERY well today, even picking up the top catch: freevideo.com.

Chris, just keep tweaking it.

You right, SnapNames has allows had a great customer service. Come to think of it...is Kjel still here??

With the autions that show the users that are auctioning...make it a little better then Pool.

WLS will not come out untill 2006(if it ever does come out).

VA = vertical axis......some very smart domainers

I also like Snapnames auctions a whole lot more than Pool because of the username system. I'm seeing more and more of my money flowing to them from Pool now since they bring some much needed transparency into the market.

No clue. I saw it go by at the same time as FreeVideo.com, but we didn't get it. Are you saying that none of the usual suspects are reporting it?

Who knows, remember, there is an extremely small, yet non-zero chance that someone could have manually registered it.
