I don't understand why people prefer snapping
over buying. I had the domain alkyl.com
advertised for sale for a year, had a $5
ebay auction (with no result).
Now that it is in redemption period, someone
immediately put a snap on it. Are there
snap-bots at work?

imho, its the thrill of panning for possible nuggets as the mud rushes downhill :D

Hopefully for peanuts.

People are afraid to approach the owner as this could alert him of interest and the cost could skyrocket arbitrarily (read ridiculously).

I believe WLS will change all this dramatically.

That may be true, I have also contacted some domain owners whos domain will expire and then the buyer renews it and ask $500+ for it.

Yup :D

Wait for the WLS and the situation could get chronic if Netsol decides to alert people that their names have been WLSed. :dead:
