Snapnames missed a number of good ones for me this week.

So, it goes back to the point that
Snapnames has their good days, and bad days.

Or, that Pool has their good days, and bad days.
And, Snapnames benefits from it. ????

All part of the game, but Snaps was 4/5 for me this week all on names that had bids of $300+. But for the price it costs for a snap compared to what the names can go for at pool, its definately worth the effort :)

How true that is. I might have to take a look at Snapnames. Pool prices are just ridiculous.

It depends almost totally on how good the name is. If a good name, especially a targeted keyword name and/or type-in name then the 3 best players, IMO: Pool, BuyDomains and UltSearch will handily beat Snapnames most all the time, with extremely rare exceptions.

If the name is a made-up name, and not a good links name, non-keyword, non-real-term, non-type-in, and not too valuable then Snapnames (or GoDaddy) has a good chance of getting it since those names are not likely heavily resourced by the more successful players.

Not great of course, but it has good OVT for the keywords (and a bit for the domain).

Wish we knew the name you refer to. I must assume for Snapnames to get it then in all likelihood it was NOT well targeted by the big 3 players for various possible reasons, or perhaps they simply overlooked the name.

If the big 3 really wants to grab a name they value highly they can do so most all the time simply by resourcing it greater with faster and more registrar connections, IMO based on my experiences.

I believe if they want an excellent name they will try to reg it say 10,000 X second from say 10 different connections, but if a good name perhaps only 2,000 X second from perhaps 2 connections, or only an average name say 500 X second from only 1 connection, etc. Again, I may be wrong, it's all only an educated guess.

I Personally don't think UltSearch has as much juice as they used to with Pool in the mix now. BuyDomains still does decent and can beat the services, but from what ive seen UltSearch mainly only wins in Pool/NameWinner auctions meaning they are having alot less success without using namewinner/pool now also.

Just one mans experiences.

Snap has not got me a name in two months and I think they are in a bad shape. I will keep on trying till my snaps expire or they get me some good names.

I think all my Snaps are now expired. They got me one average/good name in the past year and were easily beat by everyone else. I would not buy another Snap even if they were $19 instead of $69. Their big decline from the top to the bottom over past few yrs is very sad.
