I just ordered a name using Snaps.com. It showed as available with the search. I used paypal to pay. Well now it doesn't show up in my account like all the others I have purchased in the past. I go to snapnames and it shows as taken. I query it on snaps.com and it shows as still available.

Did I just get scammed out of $43.95?? :-(

Unfortunately there is a 24 hour delay between snaps
placed on SnapNames.com and snaps placed on a resellers
site.

That's why the domain isn't available at SnapNames but is
available at the partner site (snaps).

It's not snaps fault, there is no way to check for this, unfortunately.

I have never had this problem. It should not have allowed me to put a snap on the name if it was unavailable in realtime. It has always showed up in my account immediately. Apparently the snap failed and then I was charged anyways. To me this is a huge bug in the site and should be noted.

Right. It's pretty inconvenient and I've suggested to snapnames
that it should be fixed, but for some reason it can't be.

The way api snaps work is you charge first and then attempt
a backorder. So there was no way for the reseller to know
if the snap is really available until they actually snap it.

Thanks for the added informmation Luc. Hopefully it will help others in similiar situations as I did a search on the forum to try and find a similiar circumstance.

Is it standard policy to refund money to a customer where this happens? It would seem this occurs quite often.

Right, I always issued refunds immediately or if the customer
wanted exchanged it for another snap.

Didn't happen too often though, maybe 1/500.

Best Regards,

So much for Snaps.com support. Ticket has went unanswered for three days now. I cannot even add any additional comments to the ticket. I tried to order another name using snaps.com and it came up as failed and wouldn't even let me attempt to pay for it.
